A new campaign launches today to crack down on drunk drivers in Rapid City.
Last month on KELOLAND News we told you DUI arrests are down 20 percent for the fist six months of 2018 in Rapid City.
Despite the significant drop, the rapid city police department is launching a campaign starting today.
Ahead of the Labor Day holiday, the department will participate in the nationwide law enforcement campaign known as “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over.”
Extra officers will be added during regular shifts to be on the lookout for impaired drivers.
The campaign kicks off today and runs through September 3rd.
Rapid City Police say in addition to impaired drivers, officers will be on the lookout for speed and seatbelt violations.
