Rapid City Kmart Lives Another Day Following Sears Holdings Corp. Bankruptcy

The last remaining Sears Holding Corp. store in South Dakota will remain open after Monday’s overnight bankruptcy filing by the retail giant.

The Rapid City Kmart has survived several rounds of closures, including the 142 stores listed to close in the federal court papers obtained by KELOLAND News.

The Sears Hometown stores in South Dakota also won’t be closed by the bankruptcy, as they are owned by a different company.
