A 20-year-old prison inmate in Rapid City has been placed on escape status according to corrections officials.

Inmate Brendan Lebar left a community service job site Monday afternoon. Authorities believe he left with someone driving a 1990’s black sedan.

Lebar is serving a five-year sentence for forgery, a two-year sentence for eluding a police officer and a seven-year sentence with two years suspended for second-degree burglary.

He’s described as a white male, 5 ‘7″ and approximately 135 pounds. He has brown hair and hazel eyes.

Police say if you see him to contact law enforcement.
