With all sorts of TV shows focused on fixing up old homes, there’s renewed interest in historic buildings.
In Sioux Falls you’ll find seven historic districts in the city. If you live in one of them, you need to follow 10 guidelines to preserve historic features.
At the same time, a lot of old homes require a lot of work.
“We’ve had to do them where we’ve had new sewer lines all the way out to the street, new electrical poles brought in, some overhead, some underground–just trying to get everything taken care of,” Downtown Property Owner George Hamilton said.
On Tuesday’s EYE on KELOLAND, hear more from Hamilton who fixes up old homes and rents them out. Also, take a look at the city’s overall plan for these historic neighborhoods.
