A small organization in Watertown is doing its part to help Veterans suffering from post traumatic stress disorder.
Heather Wipf and her friends started Lane Logan Memorial in honor of her younger brother, a Navy Veteran who died by suicide in 2015. The first Veteran they matched with a service dog is D.J. Church.
The Henry-native says his dog Gunner saved his life.
“If it was not for Gunner, my mom and Lane Logan, I would not be here today. I can say that for a certainty. I would have given into the temptation and taken my life years ago,” Church said.
Find out how Gunner is trained to provide mental support and how he also saved Church from a house fire in Thursday’s Eye on KELOLAND.
