PREVIEW: Growing Girls Hockey

A new foundation in KELOLAND wants to get more girls playing hockey.

The Prairie Region Girls Hockey Foundation just started.

Along with introducing girls of all ages to the ice, it hopes to create more opportunities for girls already playing the sport.

Several clubs are behind the foundation including the Sioux Falls Flyers, the Brandon Valley IceCats, Legends Hockey, South Dakota Selects Hockey and Rhino Hockey.

Matt Holsen: What do you like about hockey?

Chloe Harbaugh: Everything. Going on the ice, skating around. You can feel the breeze going at you. During the games, if you score, just that rush of excitement. I love everything about it.

On Wednesday’s Eye on KELOLAND, hear more from current players about why they think the foundation is a great idea for the community.
