WASHINGTON, D.C. - On Capitol Hill, lawmakers are taking up the latest version of the farm bill.
Minnesota Senator Tina Smith has high hopes for its passing.
"This bill is a really strong bi-partisan bill. It has great basic program that help farmers in Minnesota and all over the country. Good crop insurance, good conservation programs and helping new, beginning farmers into farming and we know how big a program that is in ag country," Smith said.
Senators hope to finalize the bill this week.
