A new bar/restaurant concept is coming to Sioux Falls.
PAve opens this Friday in what used to be Skelly’s.
From the decorations on the wall to the drinks behind the bar, the owners of PAve wanted to bring something new to the city.
“This will have a little more big city feel to it,” PAve General Manager John Geiken said.
PAve will be three floors, with two of them opening on Friday. The first floor is called Factory Avenue and will have a more industrial feel. Roxbury Avenue, which emphasizes entertainment, will be on the second floor.
“We traveled to a lot of different communities looking at a lot of different places. It’s what you’ll see in a lot of larger markets that we feel Sioux Falls is ready for,” PAve General Contractor Aaron Hultgren said.
The third floor is an outdoor patio, set to open next spring. Outdoor eating and drinking areas are also a big trend across the nation.
“We only get a couple months out of the year to be out there,” Geiken said.
The business will also sell gourmet bar food and unique craft cocktails.
“It’ll just give you a really nice, eclectic kind of meal that will be fun and different,” Hultgren said.
A different kind of experience that these two believe downtown is ready for.
“Downtown is on the uptick. It’s growing and vibrant. Coming downtown, there are tons of people walking the streets every day. It’s exciting to be a part of that,” Hultgren said.
“It’s alive down here right now,” Geiken said.
