New Details On Chamberlain Murder Investigation

Court papers say a late night of drinking and a fight over money may have led to a Chamberlain murder.

At 10:23 p.m. on Saturday, police responded to a call of a “suspicious person.”  Court papers say an officer came across Nicholas Yellow Lodge, who had blood on his clothing and cheek.  He told the officer he’d been assaulted.

Just before 4 a.m. on Sunday, a jailer got a tip that a man had been beaten to death.  Police went to check on him and discovered the body of a 77-year-old man.

Later that morning, an investigator interviewed Yellow Lodge.  According to the documents, he said that both he and the victim were intoxicated and got into a fight over missing money.

Court papers say Yellow Lodge admits he hit the victim in the head four to five times with a large glass liquor bottle and that the victim wasn’t responding when he left.

Yellow Lodge is scheduled to be in court next week.
