A mother charged with murdering her two year old son may have waited for hours before getting her toddler to the hospital.

KELOLAND News has obtained court documents detailing the accusations against Katrina Shangreaux.

According to the indictment, a doctor pronounced the little boy dead at 8:30 a.m on July 28, but said he may have been dead for four hours.

At five a.m that same morning, a neighbor in Porcupine told authorities he’d heard yelling.
The suspect’s mother told investigators the fight was about potty training.

When an investigator went to the home following the child’s death, it had just been cleaned – there were no dirty clothes and he believed evidence may have been thrown in the trash.

The child had numerous injuries including a brain bleed.

Shangreaux has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
