Middle school students practice coding

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Middle school students in Sioux Falls are already getting prepared for their future careers.

On Friday, kids at George McGovern Middle School showed off their coding projects they’ve been working on this semester.

Students built web pages and a games similar to Jeopardy.

“They’ve discovered this year that if one little thing is wrong they’ve got to fix it. The computer only understands when it’s done in a certain area,” sixth grade science teacher Amy Miller said.

Coming up on KELOLAND News, find out how this program could help kids land jobs in the future.
