The accused Russian spy with South Dakota ties was back in court Wednesday.
Maria Butina wore an orange jumpsuit, as her attorney argued that prosecutors turn over evidence supporting their claim that Butina offered sex in return for a job.
“She denies the charges and we’ll work through the process and she’ll be vindicated,” Robert Driscoll attorney for Maria Butina said.
Butina sat silently throughout the proceeding. She’s charged with conspiracy and acting as a foreign agent.
Butina owns a South Dakota business and has spent significant time in the state.
