A man in the hospital is facing drug charges following an incident at a Sioux Falls motel.
Around noon Wednesday, police were called to the Motel 6 on West Russell Street. A man inside was making so much noise that people from different floors could hear him.
Management let officers into the room, where they allegedly found the man yelling and screaming.
They tried getting him to leave but he wouldn’t, so the officers ended up tasing him. Anytime someone is tased and ambulance is called to check on them.
About the same time the ambulance arrived the man became unresponsive and stopped breathing. The paramedics were able to get his heart beating again and then they took him to the hospital.
Police say they found a couple of bags of meth in the room.
They aren’t sure what caused the man to stop breathing, but he is still in the hospital. He’s being charged with a few different things including possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest.
