The victim in an assault in Mitchell died on Tuesday, and the suspect involved has been charged with First Degree Manslaughter.

Police say that they were called to Thirsty’s Bar at around 11:30 p.m. Thursday because someone had been knocked out and was bleeding.

26-year-old Dylan Thompson allegedly had some sort of disagreement with a 59-year-old man in the bar.

Later outside the bar, Thompson allegedly hit the other man, causing him to fall and hit his head.  Thompson then ran away but police were able to catch up with him.

Thompson was arrested on assault charges, but his charges were increased on Tuesday. If convicted, he could face life in prison.

Authorities are still investigating.
