Man dead after truck rolls near Akaska

AKASKA, S.D. (KELO) — A man is dead after losing control of his truck on a gravel road near Akaska. 

The South Dakota Department of Safety said a 55-year-old was northbound on 303rd Avenue when the truck went into the ditch, knocked over a road sign and rolled. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt, was thrown from the truck and pronounced dead at the scene. 

Akaskais located in Walworth County in north-central South Dakota. 

The South Dakota Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
