The now-former director of the Family Visitation Center in Sioux Falls is accused of taking money from the organization.

Sioux Falls Police Captain Blaine Larsen says Aaron Wimmer is accused of embezzling since 2011.

Larsen says the 40-year-old had access to credit cards and it grew from there.  There are no details on what he used the money to purchase.

The Family Visitation Center works to ensure the safety and well-being of children caught in the middle of divorce, domestic violence, substance abuse, and/or child abuse.

Wimmer is charged with one count of felony embezzlement and is scheduled to appear in court on November 5.

Larsen says Wimmer has started to pay back more than $40,000 to the center.
