Zebra Mussels confirmed in Deuel County lake

Local News

PIERRE, S.D. (KELO) — Zebra mussels continue to spread in South Dakota lakes, the Game, Fish and Parks Department announced Wednesday.

The GFP confirmed adult zebra mussels in Lake Cochrane near the Minnesota border in Deuel County. The presence of two sexually mature adult mussels is enough to consider the lake infested.

GFP officials continue to stress the importance of people cleaning watercraft and trailers as well as drain all water. For more see sdleastwanted.com
