When It Rains, The Visitors Pour In To Falls Park

KELO Falls Park

All this rain in the Sioux Falls area means some dramatic views at Falls Park. The falls were roaring on Thursday, with the park welcoming a lot of visitors.

The more rain Sioux Falls receives, the more impressive the sights and sounds are at Falls Park.

“Well I’m here because I’d heard we had all this rainfall, and I just figured there’d be a spectacular show going on at the waterfalls, and there is,” Barbara Weniger said.

She wasn’t the only person visiting the park.

“It’s pretty breathtaking,” said Stephiney Foley, who was on her way to Seattle. “It’s beautiful, overcast, not too hot, not too cold, and it’s, yeah it’s really breathtaking. Something I didn’t expect.”

And then there are the practical considerations.

“We needed the rain, and I guess it was good that, we didn’t probably need that much, but we got it,” Rick Wibben said.

Sioux Falls certainly did, and people were at Falls Park to soak it all in.

“I got so close, took a picture,” Weniger said. “You feel, it’s like, you feel like it’s going to be a tsunami, but it’s not, but you know that just wall of water right in front of you, is really, takes your breath away.”
