Visitors Enjoy Attractions At South Dakota State Fair

Gates opened at the South Dakota State Fair Thursday morning for thousands of visitors who checked out the animal barns, ate fair food and enjoyed the fair rides.

 At the fair on Thursday, officials handed out the Red Wilk American Hero Award during the Bull Bash.

The award honors several local veterans. Thursday was also Veterans Day at the fair.  All current and former service members got in for free.

Gates open at 7 a.m. On Friday night, Toby Keith, Chancey Williams and the Younger Brothers Band will play at the grandstand.
