A musical about Jesus called “Heaven to Heaven” has premiered at the University of Sioux Falls, and Sunday afternoon it gave another performance.
Of course, colleges put on plays all the time, and the general theme of this story is well-known. So, ahead of the show, we asked the director about what makes this show unique.
“I think it’s a different way of approaching who Jesus is and what he did, and the things that followers of Jesus believe in,” director Joe Obermueller said. “This is just a different way of seeing those stories play out and beginning to understand who he was, and so this is just a different access point.”
Coming up later tonight on KELOLAND Weekend News, we take a closer look at this musical by introducing you to its writer and a student portraying Jesus.
