Two employees of an Iowa convenience store are in the hospital recovering from gunshot wounds after an attempted robbery.
The Le Mars Police Department says the robbery happened just after 6 am Sunday when a man walked into the HyVee Gas station with a handgun and demanded money.
On his way out, he shot the two female clerks in the stomach.
A couple of hours later, the suspect’s car was found in South Sioux City. The man was found dead in the car from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Le Mars Police say the two women who were shot are in a Sioux City hospital and are stable.
Officials haven’t released the names of the women or the suspected robber.
