Texting And Driving Bill Moving To House

PIERRE, S.D. - Another bill working its way through Pierre would put a broader ban on texting and driving in South Dakota.

Right now, it's only a secondary offense, meaning you'd have to get pulled over for something else first before getting in trouble for texting while driving. But if this new bill passes, authorities could pull you over if they see you texting behind the wheel.

Although this bill could potentially affect a lot of drivers it could also have a big impact on law enforcement in the state.

So what do they think about it? We're reaching out to some officials and we'll let you know what we hear Wednesday on KELOLAND News.
