State raising oft-flooded stretch of I-29 in western Iowa

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (KELO) – Iowa is raising a section of Interstate 29 that has flooded several times this year.

Crews in Iowa will raise the interstate between Exits 56 and 55, which is near Council Bluffs. Construction is expected to start Monday and last until November 5th.

This section of I-29 has been closed several times because of flooding along the Missouri River.
