Saturday brought a milestone for the St. Francis House in Sioux Falls.
The organization had its groundbreaking ceremony Saturday for its new facility. The shovels ceremoniously went into the dirt Saturday morning, but work is already well underway on the new building.
“We started demo on April 2nd, and in a month, this is already all the work that they’ve already gotten accomplished on our new home,” St. Francis House Executive Director Julie Becker said.
After construction, the St. Francis House will have boosted its capacity by 50 percent- from 80 to 120. The organization offers transitional housing.
