TODD COUNTY, S.D. (KELO) – An FBI investigation into child pornography includes a South Dakota teacher.

An indictment filed this week, accuses 33-year old Charles Reambonanza from St. Francis of possession of child porn.

The investigation started last year, following reports of images being sent and received on the messenger app Telegram and being paid for through the online service PayPal.

Authorities traced accounts used to receive images back to Reambonanza.

Court documents say when he met with an FBI agent at his home, he said he has been watching child pornography for several years and admitted to having images on several electronic devices.

According to online records he is being held in the Hughes County Jail.

Reambonanza is listed online as a Science Teacher at the St. Francis Indian School.

We reached out to the school and officials provided a statement.

The statement reads in part:

St. Francis Indian School wants to make the record clear that at no time were St. Francis Indian School students or other children on the Rosebud Sioux Indian Reservation the subject of the child pornography Mr. Reambonanza was in possession of and that St. Francis Indian School takes the utmost care and caution to ensure its fulfilling its responsibility and duties of protecting its students and staff, keeping them safe and ensuring they will never become the victim of such allegations.
