Sioux Falls police use K-9 to help catch assault suspect

Local News

SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO) —  Sioux Falls police brought in a K-9 to catch a suspect in a domestic assault.

Officers responded to a home on West Stoney Creek Street Friday afternoon after a woman reported she had been choked.

Officers and the K-9 chased the 27-year-old suspect through several yards,  before finding him hiding in a window well near Purdue Avenue and Regan Street.

Police say they released the K-9 on the suspect because of the seriousness of the crimes.

The suspect was treated and released and then taken to jail.  He’s charged with felony aggravated assault domestic, resisting arrest, interference with 911 and fleeing police.
