Sioux Falls City Council To Vote On A Homes In Sherman Historic District

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - On Tuesday, Sioux Falls City Council members will vote on a resolution to save a group of homes.

The plan would deny a developer's proposal to demolish four homes in the Sherman Historic District, near downtown.

An attorney for owner Justin Johnson says the homes are in disrepair and an eyesore. The developer had sent renderings to the city, showing a new commercial development in the homes place.

Opponents, including the area's neighborhood association, said a new development would negatively impact the historic charm of the neighborhood.
