Search Enters Third Day For Missing 9-Year-Old In Pennington County

Local News

As we close in on 48 hours since Serenity Dennard disappeared, authorities say the search continues Tuesday.

The 9-year-old was last seen in Rapid City leaving Children’s Home Society around 10:45 a.m. MST Sunday.

In an update Tuesday morning, investigators said they spoke with a couple who was cutting wood and were able to define a better timeline of events. More than 100 people, including dogs, are searching for Serenity on Day 3.

Serenity was last seen wearing a long-sleeved grey shirt with flowers, blue jeans and snow boots. She is a Caucasian girl, 4’7″, 90 pounds, with blue eyes and shoulder length dirty blonde hair.

Multiple agencies are working on the search and the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday’s focus is the general area of the campus with a one-mile radius.

Authorities are asking anyone with a game camera set up in the area to review the footage and let authorities know if you see anything.  They are asking encouraging anyone living in the Rockerville, Foster Gulch and Highway 16 area to search their property and outbuildings.

Anyone who has seen or had contact with Serenity Dennard is asked to contact the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office at (605) 394-6115.
