A saturation patrol this weekend in Sioux Falls lead to two DWI arrests.
This was part of the police department’s “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign.
Officers also issued more than 100 tickets, including 36 for speeding and 6 for seat belt violations.
“Obviously this is the trend we want to see. We want to send officers out looking for impaired drivers and come back and not find them because it means people are making the good choice and not driving impaired,” Police Officer Sam Clemens said.
Clemens says while these patrols are meant to keep drunk drivers off the road, officers are also watching for other traffic violations.
