A major announcement in the Railyard Redevelopment project will shape the future of Downtown Sioux Falls.
After almost two decades of work and millions of dollars in federal money, the City announced its first agreement with David and Erika Billion and their development group, Black Iron Railyard LLC.
The first phase of the project includes a six-story, mixed use building. It will offer retail, office and residential space as well as a bike path and outdoor plaza.
Vice President of Downtown Sioux Falls Inc. Brienne Maner says this will be a new gathering place for downtown events and a draw for business and residents alike.
Construction will begin in less than a year and phase one is expected to be complete by 2020.
