WASHINGTON , D.C. (KELO) — Continuing our Midwest Honor Flight coverage from last weekend’s flight, KELOLAND’s Carter Schmidt will have one final story for you Sunday night.
The report will focus on Vietnam veterans visiting the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. and what that experience meant for them. 121 Vietnam veterans were on the flight, and it was the organization’s second-ever Vietnam veteran-only flight.
“It’s great. It really is. I had seen a model of it in Omaha several years ago, but it’s nothing like actually visiting and seeing it real life,” he said.
You’ll hear from Nolan and four other Vietnam veterans Sunday night on KELOLAND Weekend News.
