UPDATE: 1 injured after being shot by rifle Thursday morning

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — A 27-year-old man is recovering from gunshot wounds after an early morning shooting in western Sioux Falls. 

The shooting happened inside a trailer home in the 700 block of Regal Place at 6:15 a.m. Police said two men and a woman came over to the home and knew the victim. One the men grabbed a rifle and shot the victim. Police aren’t sure what led up to the shooting. 

The suspect and two other people fled the trailer home and police are trying to track down everyone involved. 

Police say the victim and a friend went straight to the hospital. The victim had two wounds on an arm and on the back torso area. The victim had surgery right away but is facing non life-threatening injuries, according to police.  

Police said this wasn’t a random event but the investigation is still early. Authorities haven’t found the rifle and there haven’t been any arrests.
