SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO) — Police are investigating shots-fired in a southwest Sioux Falls neighborhood.
In a press release sent Sunday afternoon, Sioux Falls Police say they were called to the area of 5300 W 44th Street Sunday morning around 4:30 for a report of shots fired.
Police say a large group of people were gathered and a disagreement broke out. Someone pulled out a gun and started shooting.
No one was injured, but police did find a bullet hole in a nearby house. Police don’t know who was shooting the gun.
During the shooting, a few people left and drove away. Another vehicle hit a man walking on the sidewalk and then crashed into the people trying to leave.
The driver tried to run away but officers found him nearby.
The suspect, Morris Smith JR, was arrested and is being charged with aggravated assault and felony hit and run.
Authorities continue to investigate. No victims were hit by gunfire.
