Facade Of Downtown Building Secured; Additional Work To Happen Next Week

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -

Contractors were able to push back facade on a downtown building that started to move recently.

Concern over bricks falling from the building that is home to Vishnu Bunny Tattoo And Piercing, Primp Boutique and Palmer Lea Boutique forced crews to close Phillips Avenue and evacuate nearby businesses for a time.  As of 4:55 p.m., Coffea, which is to the north of the building with the issue, is open again.  Phillips Avenue was opened to traffic as of 5:30 p.m.

Public Works Director Mark Cotter says the facade was actually pushed back a little bit Thursday afternoon.  He says additional work to fix the problem wouldn't start until next week.
