SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -
Contractors were able to push back facade on a downtown building that started to move recently.
Concern over bricks falling from the building that is home to Vishnu Bunny Tattoo And Piercing, Primp Boutique and Palmer Lea Boutique forced crews to close Phillips Avenue and evacuate nearby businesses for a time. As of 4:55 p.m., Coffea, which is to the north of the building with the issue, is open again. Phillips Avenue was opened to traffic as of 5:30 p.m.
Public Works Director Mark Cotter says the facade was actually pushed back a little bit Thursday afternoon. He says additional work to fix the problem wouldn't start until next week.

Work to secure the facade on the building that houses Vishnu Bunny Tattoo And Piercing, Primp Boutique and Palmer Lea Boutique will be done Thursday afternoon, according to an update from Sioux Falls Fire Rescue.
Once the facade is shored up, SFFR will turn the scene over to the contractor who will oversee the next steps.

A number of city officials on the scene, watching the facade on a building in downtown.
Public Works Director Mark Cotter tells KELOLAND News the facade has moved 1.5 inches in the last hour, when crews first started monitoring it. He says if it continues to move as it has, he believes there is a strong possibility it will come down.

Crews are looking at both the interior and exterior of the building that houses Vishnu Bunny Tattoo And Piercing on Phillips Avenue. City engineers are on scene due to concerns over the facade on the building.
Phillips Ave. between 10th and 11th St. will remain closed. Coffea to the north and Primp to the south were also evacuated.
No bricks or anything from the building has fallen.
