Not the Corn Palace, but 57th Street stalk gains corn attention for Sioux Falls

Local News

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — It’s not what you expect to see when you are driving down a busy street.

A single stalk of corn has sprouted through the concrete on 57th Street in southern Sioux Falls. It’s no Corn Palace, but it’s getting a lot of attention. There are at least two Twitter accounts that are dedicated to the corn.

It’s even caught Mayor Paul TenHaken’s attention. He sent out a tweet saying, “touch this corn and there will be trouble.”
