Local News

PIERRE, S.D. (KELO) — The Noem Administration has submitted an application to the National Parks Service for a special use permit for the 2022 Mount Rushmore Fireworks Celebration.

The fireworks celebration was brought back in 2020 after being cancelled for more than a decade, but the permit application was rejected in 2021.

Governor Noem is currently in litigation with National Park Service over the rejection.
