You now have an easier way to report issues across the City of Sioux Falls and it’s right at your fingertips.
From deep pot holes to snow and ice-covered streets, those are just a couple of things you can let the city know about.
“I just think when you have a city the size of Sioux Falls, when you have 80 square miles of surface, a lot of infrastructure out there, we really see this as a huge benefit for us to get really good information on those customer requests and then also for us to prioritize based on the severity,” director of public works Mark Cotter said.
When you open up the app, you are taken to the home page. By tapping on the issues tab, you can see a map with all the issues that have been reported across the city. That’s not all.
“You can see conversations between our street department and citizens and traffic engineers, people that are going back and forth and the customer experience has been fantastic,” Director of Innovation and Technology Jason Reisdorfer said.
When you want to report a problem, you can add a picture, the location and a message about the issue.
“Once it gets acknowledged by one of our teammates that it gets assigned to, then you will get that response and ultimately you will be able to track through when it’s been submitted, when it’s been acknowledged and when it’s been completed,” Cotter said.
Each report is labeled with a different colored pin to let you know the status. Each of these blue pins marks a problem that’s fixed.
“Some of them are going to take longer than others, but the goal of this is to really streamline the process and instead of passing customers phone call to phone call, we will be able to share these tickets in real time and so we’re expecting some efficiencies to come out of this thing,” Reisdorfer said.
