More than a dozen car mirrors damaged in Sioux Falls

Local News

Sioux Falls Police are trying to figure out who broke more than a dozen car mirrors in the central and eastern parts of the city.

Investigators say as of Wednesday morning, they received 15 reports of broken car mirrors, however they expect that number to climb.

A witness told authorities around 3:30 Wednesday morning, they spotted a someone hanging out the passenger side of a car, hitting the mirrors with a baseball bat.

“Thankfully, one of the people that saw this take place was able to get a license plate number, so we’ve found that car already this morning. We’re working on figuring out who was driving, who was hanging out the passenger door. We’re making good progress on that, have a suspect or suspects in mind, but no arrests at this point in time,” Sioux Falls Police Public Information Officer Sam Clemens said.

Investigators say if you believe your mirror was hit by one of the vandals, you are asked to contact Sioux Falls Police.
