SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — A lot of people laced up their running shoes this weekend for the Avera Race Against Cancer.
More than 6,000 people walked or ran Saturday morning.
This year’s race was a bit different. In year’s past, the race was in support of those fighting breast cancer. But this year, the event was expanded to include all kinds of cancer.
This year’s race raised over $400,000 for the Avera Cancer Institute, money that organizers say will stay local. And there were some people here at KELO who ran in the race.
Some of the members of the news team went running this weekend. And KELOLAND This Morning had a good turnout at the event, too.
