UPDATED 1:48 p.m. SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Sioux Falls firefighters rescued one man from a fire at an apartment complex Monday morning at 1624 S. Doodler Drive.
Crews responded to a call of a fire at 7:45 a.m. and found smoke and flames coming from the first floor of the apartment complex. Crews rescued one man and put out the fire in 10 minutes.
Firefighters said the apartment complex’s sprinkler system helped keep the fire in the original apartment. All apartment residents were evacuated and the residents of the adjacent apartments were not misplaced.
The condition of the man taken to the hospital is unknown.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Fire crews responded to a fire on the block of Doodler Drive, not far the Hy-Vee on 26th Street and Sycamore Avenue.
Authorities at the scene told KELOLAND News the fire was contained to one apartment. The sprinkler system in the building helped keep it condensed.
Everyone in the building was evacuated and the condition of the man sent to the hospital is unknown.
The cause of fire is also unknown and under investigation.
