SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — KELOLAND’s Perry Groten reports one of the x-ray machines has been fixed. Officials at the airport said parts have been ordered to fix both machines.
The earliest both machines could be fixed would be late Friday night. People flying should plan on being at the airport at least two hours early.
There were some long lines at the Sioux Falls Regional Airport Friday morning.
KELOLAND’s Angela Kennecke reported there was an X-ray machine down and sent video of the security line at the airport. The video shows the line stretching down the stairs.
Airport officials say people should plan to arrive at the airport two hours before their scheduled flight.
The Transportation Security Administration said Thursday afternoon it was experiencing reduced screening capacity of carry-on luggage due to an inoperable x-ray unit in the security checkpoint.
TSA is working to repair the x-ray equipment, but there is no estimated time for completion.
KELOLAND News will be at the airport Friday and have more coverage on-air on online.
