The old barn at the new Lake Lorraine development in western Sioux Falls is going to be torn down.
Developers say around 80 percent of the wood will be repurposed. It will be used in a community space within the development.
Over the past few months, the public has weighed in on what they would like to see done with the barn.
An overwhelming number of people wanted to keep or restore the barn in some way, but the developers say it was in too poor of shape not to be torn down.
Lake Lorraine has changed dramatically over the past year, and now is home to several national retailers, including HomeGoods, Hobby Lobby and DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse.
