Kirk Hill Wildfire burns near Sturgis

STURGIS, S.D. (KELO) — A wildfire is currently burning just 5 miles southwest of Sturgis according to Black Hills National Forest officials.

As of 5:00 p.m. the fire was estimated at 40 acres. Several state and federal agencies are working to contain the flames and protect nearby structures. Helicopters and tankers are also dropping water on the area.
