A 43-year-old woman died after her Jeep vaulted off a tow truck on Interstate 90 a half-mile west of Brandon Thursday night.
According to the South Dakota Department of Safety, the 43-year-old woman vaulted over the cab of the tow truck and rolled. She was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the car and pronounced dead at the scene.
The tow truck was working partially in the driving lane trying to pull another vehicle off the median. The truck had its flatbed lowered onto the shoulder and roadway. The 28-year-old man driving the tow truck did not have any injuries.
South Dakota’s Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
