DES MOINES, Iowa (KELO) — Schools in Iowa will soon get a three percent increase in funding.
That brings Iowa’s general fund spending on public schools to more than 76 hundred dollars per student.
That’s four hundred dollars more per student.
However, some lawmakers are asking why the increase is only 3-percent, pointing to the projected cost of the recently-passed private school vouchers bill.
