UPDATE: No shots fired in Rushmore Mall incident

UPDATED 6:15 a.m.

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KELO) — Authorities in Rapid City are still trying to figure out exactly what happened during an incident at the Rushmore Mall.

Around 5 p.m. Sunday night, authorities were called after a report of a person with a gun heading into the mall’s haunted house attraction. The suspect was detained and nobody was hurt. 

Authorities say no shots were fired.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Police in Rapid City are investigating an incident that happened Sunday evening at the Rushmore Mall.

Authorities were called after a report of a person with a gun heading into the mall’s haunted house attraction.

The suspect was detained and nobody was hurt in the incident. Authorities say no shots were fired.

Every officer in the city reported to the scene. Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
