Gov. Kristi Noem announced she plans to sign Senate Bill 47, the constitution carry bill, into law on Thursday.
Noem announced her decision on Twitter, saying the “constitutional carry legislation will further protect the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding South Dakotans.”
SB 47 previously won Senate approval 23-11 on January 22. Prime sponsor was Republican Senator Brock Greenfield of Clark, the Senate’s president pro tem. The House vote was 47-23.
Our Founding Fathers believed so firmly in our right to bear arms that they enshrined it into the Constitution. Tomorrow, I will sign SB47 into law. This constitutional carry legislation will further protect the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding South Dakotans.— Governor Kristi Noem (@govkristinoem) January 30, 2019
