HARRISBURG, SD (KELO) — A family in Harrisburg returned home Sunday to survey what remains of their home that’s been heavily-damaged in a fire.

Sarah Wendorrf, Kyle Rogness and their three children were out of town at a hockey tournament in Minnesota when their home started on fire.

The call came in just after 2 a.m. Sunday morning to Cottonwood Drive and Lois Lane in southwest Harrisburg.

The home was fully engulfed by the time firefighters arrived.

The Red Cross will be working with the family because the Lincoln County Emergency Manager says the family lost everything in the fire.

Crews from Harrisburg, Tea and Sioux Falls responded.

The cause is under investigation.

Family and friends of the couple have set up a GoFundMe page and are asking for donations of clothing, kitchen items, personal hygiene items, bedding, blankets and more. To find out where to donate items, contact Wendorrf’s sister, Michelle Thorne, on Facebook or call her at 605-413-7497.
