The family of Maggie Zaiger, a 5-year-old who drowned at Falls Park on March 18, has filed a lawsuit against the City of Sioux Falls.
Attorneys from Robins Kaplan are representing the estate of Zaiger and are filling the suit with Maggie’s mother, Courtney Jayne. The suit claims that the “best practice” to prevent foam-related drownings would be if “Fencing and increased patrol is used at Falls Park during the Spring run-off to prevent access to the natural rocks and water.”
The complaint was filed in the United States District Court, District of South Dakota, Southern Division.
