Drug Dealer In Fentanyl Case Sentenced To 10 Years

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - We know now how long a South Dakota drug dealer will be spending behind bars for selling heroin, laced with deadly fentanyl, that killed a Sioux Falls woman last year.
Last fall, Devlin Tommeraasen pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute drugs in connection with the death of 21-year-old Emily Groth, KELOLAND's Angela Kennecke's daughter.
Friday in court, Tommerassen apologized to Emily's family for the anguish he caused and said he's working to turn his life around in the aftermath of the tragedy. The judge today sentenced Tommeraasen to 10 years in prison.
She's also recommending Tommeraasen take part in a drug treatment program through the Bureau of Prisons.
Once he's out of prison, Tommerassen will be under the supervised release of a probation officer and will have to submit to random drug tests.
Angela read a statement during Tommerassen's sentencing hearing. Find out what she thinks of his sentence, Friday on KELOLAND News.
